What Are Community Groups at Eagle Creek Church?

Community Groups are Eagle Creek Church’s small groups — circles of people who meet regularly outside of Sunday services to build real friendships, study the Bible, pray for each other, and do life together in Jesus. If Sunday is where you attend church, a Community Group is where church starts to feel like family.

Big services are great for worship and teaching, but nobody builds close friendships in rows of chairs. Community Groups are where you’re known by name, missed when you’re gone, and supported when life gets hard. Eagle Creek’s shorthand for it: doing life together in Jesus.

Community Groups take many forms and meet throughout the week, giving people a place to connect, grow, and build meaningful relationships:

  • Women’s Groups — several women’s Bible studies and community groups meet throughout the week. Women also gather twice a year for larger events focused on worship, teaching, connection, and encouragement.
  • Men’s Groups — men meet in multiple groups and Bible studies throughout the week, along with a yearly men’s event centered on worship, teaching, and connection.
  • Young Adult Groups — active groups for those in their late teens, 20s, and 30s who want to grow in faith and build community.
  • Mixed & Couples Groups — a variety of groups for adults, couples, and mixed gatherings focused on Scripture, discussion, and life together.
  • Student Groups (Tribes) — students meet in small groups called Tribes during EC-YTH on Wednesday nights, divided by grade and gender and designed to help teens build friendships and grow in their faith.

Community Groups meet throughout the week in a variety of settings — most gather in homes or the church building.

Groups run in three “seasons” (trimesters) throughout the year, when new groups launch and sign-ups are highlighted. But you don’t have to wait for a season to start: you’re welcome to join a group at any time during the year. There’s always a place to get connected.

Childcare options vary by group. In many cases, group leaders arrange childcare, and families contribute a small fee per child to help cover the cost. Some groups have students or volunteers who provide childcare at no cost. Because each group handles it a little differently, check with your group leader for the specifics — and if childcare is a deciding factor for you, mention it at Connect 15 and the team will point you to groups that fit.

Every Community Group is a little different, but most gatherings feel natural and relational. A typical night might include sharing a meal or snacks, catching up on life, and talking through Scripture or the previous Sunday’s message. Groups also take time to pray for one another and support each other through whatever’s going on in life. It’s less like a classroom and more like time around a table with people who are growing in faith together.

Life is better together — it’s one of Eagle Creek’s deepest convictions. Browse the open groups at eaglecreekchurch.com/groups today, or come to Connect 15 this Sunday and we’ll help you find your people.
