Every Eagle Creek Church volunteer who works with children passes a background check, and the church uses a matching security-tag system so your child can only be picked up by you. A dedicated safety team is also present at every service, and the team will text you right away if your child needs you.
Here’s exactly how it works, step by step.
- When you arrive, head to the check-in station — greeters can point the way.
- The EKids team will ask for a few details: your name and contact info, your kids’ names and birthdates, and any allergies or special instructions.
- Your child gets a security tag, and you get a matching tag. Keep yours — it’s how you pick your child up.
- A team member walks you to your child’s room, matched to their age.
Want to save time? Fill out the First Time Kids Check-In Form online before you come. After your first visit, check-in takes just a moment.
- Background checks. Every ECC volunteer passes a background check before serving with kids.
- Security tags. Your child is released only to the adult holding the matching tag — no exceptions.
- Parent notifications. If your child needs you during the service, the team texts you immediately.
- Safety team. A trained safety team is on site at every single service.
- Age-appropriate rooms. Kids are grouped by age — nursery (infants–2), preschool (3–PreK), elementary (K–3rd), and THE LINK (4th–5th) — and at least two screened adults or teens are with the kids at all times. No child is ever alone with a single volunteer.
Tell the team at check-in. Allergies and special instructions are recorded with your child’s profile and flagged for the volunteers in their room every visit.
Eagle Creek offers one-on-one buddies — a consistent volunteer paired with your child so they can build a real relationship — available at every service. The goal is to include every child in a classroom that fits them developmentally and socially, and the team will happily work with you on a personalized plan if a typical classroom feels overwhelming.
Yes — you’re welcome to stay with your child for a few minutes while they settle in. After that, no worries: the team will text you if your child is having a hard time, so you’re never more than a moment away.
Yes — Thursday 6:30pm and both Sunday services (9:00 and 10:30am) have full EKids programming, from the nursery through 5th grade.
Your kids’ safety is Eagle Creek’s first priority — and their fun is a close second. We’d love to meet your family this week; swing by the welcome desk and we’ll take care of the rest.
