What Is ECC YTH at Eagle Creek Church?

EC-YTH is Eagle Creek Church’s student ministry for teens in grades 6 through 12, meeting every Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Lee’s Summit campus (125 SE Stuart Rd). It’s a high-energy night built for teenagers: big games, live worship, Bible-based teaching, and small groups where students build real friendships.

Every week, EC-YTH combines:

  • Hangout and high-energy games — the first part of the night is built for friendships: games, conversation, and time to simply hang out
  • Dynamic worship — live music where students can encounter God for themselves
  • Bible-based teaching — practical messages that take the real challenges of teenage life seriously
  • Tribes — after worship, students gather in Tribes: small groups divided by grade and gender, where they build genuine friendships, ask questions, encourage one another, and grow in their faith alongside others in the same stage of life

Eagle Creek believes students aren’t the “church of tomorrow” — they’re an essential part of the church right now. The teenage years are some of the most formative in a person’s life, and EC-YTH exists to make that season one of growth: a place where teens discover for themselves who Jesus is and what a relationship with Him looks like, surrounded by leaders and friends who are for them.

Absolutely — in fact, that’s one of EC-YTH’s biggest priorities. The youth ministry has a saying: “No One Walks Alone.” Every student deserves to feel seen, known, and connected.

The first part of each youth night is designed for exactly this: games, conversation, and relaxed hangout time where new students can meet others naturally. Leaders are always watching for new faces and intentionally help students get connected. Then in Tribes, your teen is grouped with students of the same grade and gender — people in the same stage of life. Whether they arrive knowing everyone or no one, the goal is the same: to leave feeling like they belong.

Just show up — no registration or sign-in needed. A leader will welcome your teen at the door, introduce them to other students, and help them find the right Tribe. Wednesdays, 6:30pm, Lee’s Summit campus.

No — Wednesday night is a complete experience on its own, and plenty of students start there. Many families end up attending Sunday services together as well (teens join the main service — EKids ends at 5th grade), but there’s no requirement.

Yes. Like every Eagle Creek ministry, EC-YTH volunteers pass background checks, and the church’s safety team is on site Wednesday nights just as on Sundays.

Have a middle schooler or high schooler in the Lee’s Summit area? Send them our way this Wednesday at 6:30pm — we’d love to meet them.
